We win several awards each year, raise thousands of dollars for charity, and do hundreds of community service hours but, we like to have fun too. Each fall we do a function with a sorority sometime in September. We always pick our homecoming partner to do this with. We also do a function where we invite girls from every sorority who participate in our philanthropy event. Each spring we have a Valentine's Day Crush Dance. Each guy in the house invites 2 dates and we buy all the girls Sigma Nu Crush Dance t-shirts. In April we do our spring philanthropy event and just like the fall we invite girls from every sorority who participate in our event.
Semi-Formal
Each November we have a semiformal event here in Charleston. We usually hold it at a local bar or hotel banquet hall. Each guy brings a date to the dance. We have a fun filled night of dinner, music, and dancing. It's compared to the college version of a high school's Homecoming. Everyone always has a good time and it's a great formal type event for the Fall Semester.
Formal
This is probably our most fun event of the year. Every fall we vote on where our location for formal will be in the following spring. Our two most recent destinations have been Memphis, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri. We leave Friday after classes and have our formal on Friday night. We rent a banquet room in the hotel we are staying at. We have a formal dinner which is followed by awards and some music. Saturday we usually check out the city we are in. Guys and their dates usually pick different places to go because everyone wants to do something different. We have traveled Beale Street in Memphis along with Graceland. In St. Louis we have visited Busch Stadium for a Cardinals game and guys have taken the Anheuser Busch tour.
